Family and friends join Tom and Mary 

A night of fun and laughter surrounded by family and friends is how Mary Houlihan from Ballybunion spent her 60th birthday party. The surprise party was organised by her husband Tom and three children, Caroline, John and Diane.

“We had a great night, all of mom’s friends and family were there and of course she got an awful shock when we surprised her with all of her close friends as well as her pride and joy, her four grandchildren, Caomhie, Rachel, Aoibhin and Chloe”, said Diane, Mary’s daughter. 

Mary’s sisters, Margaret Casey, Nora O’Connell, and Liz Wall all attended the festivities as well as her niece Irene Carr and Pat and Joan Lyons. 

Son-in-law Donie Lyons and daughter-in-law Yvonne were all there. Mary was inundated with gifts and cards from her friends and family.

“We had a wonderful meal in the Promenade hotel and I know mom would like to thank them for their hard work and the fantastic meal that we had there,” Diane said.  

“She had a great night and it was such a big surprise for her. After the meal, we had drinks with her family and friends and had a great night. 

“She would also like to thank everyone for such a fantastic night and for the bouquets of flowers that she received for her big birthday”, said Diane.
